Las Vegas continues to be the epicenter of the live poker economy, with more places to gamble than any other city in the US. With around 20 live poker locations to choose from, tourists and locals alike enjoy plenty of options when it comes to gambling Competition is in the living sense.
Some poker rooms like Wynn, Aria and Bellagio are considered by poker pros to be the best in town. While these locations thrive as the heart of poker activity on the Las Vegas Strip, other hidden gems await those willing to venture out of the busiest part of town.
This list of the "Top 10 Poker Rooms in Las Vegas" includes information from members of the Hand History Lounge, a think tank founded by Las Vegas poker pros Benton Blakeman andKorporal andres. While the order of these rankings can certainly spark some debate, in general you can't go wrong by spending hours playing at the following ten Las Vegas live poker venues.
10The gold nugget
As far as poker rooms go, nothing captures the old school Las Vegas experience quite like the Golden Nugget. The cozy setting of the venerable 13-table venue is currently the only place to play live poker in downtown Las Vegas.
The Golden Nugget's location on Freemont Street gives the poker room a very different feel compared to its counterparts on the Strip. The main attraction at the Golden Nugget poker room is $1/$2 No-Limit Hold'emmoney game, which has an unlimited maximum input.
While the stakes are low, unlimited entry creates an atmosphere unlike anything else in town. It's not uncommon for players to pay four-figure buy-ins or even more at the $1/$2 Golden Nugget tables.
Golden Nugget is the only poker room in Las Vegas that plays $100 bills, and you'll often see players sitting behind a stack of chips and bills. An occasional $2/$5 game is held at the Golden Nugget along with a number of special seasonal tournaments.
Why Visit Golden Nugget:While you find higher and potentially more profitable no-limitsTexas HoldemBetting on cash games elsewhere, the $1/$2 Golden Nugget games can be played like some of the best low stakes live games in town.
"I love the Golden Nugget and I think it's consistently underrated," says Preston Currie, a Las Vegas regular. In addition to its unique $1/$2 scene, the Golden Nugget also offers walking access to Las Vegas' vibrant arts and nightlife scene.
9. Kaiserpalast
It's hard to top the experience of visiting the legendary Caesars Palace on the Strip. Poker has a long tradition at Caesars, which offers a 15-table poker room.
The location of the poker room is right in the heart of the resort's nightlife, which can bode well for savvy cash game players looking to pit themselves against tourists looking for a rousing cash night game.

Caesars Palace hosts five tournaments daily with buy-ins of $100 and $150. Cash games at Caesars include an always-on $1/$3 NLHE game ($300 max buy-in) and an occasional $2/$5 game ($500 max buy-in).
Why Visit Caesars Palace:You might not find a better ratio of tourists to regulars anywhere else on the Strip.
"(Caesars is a) hidden gem outside of sportsbook with above-average games for the National League's low-limit crowd," says Blakeman. "Everything is fine, but nothing great, but they receive a very constant influx of tourists and less regularly than the other big strip casinos”.
8.Venetian
Sheldon Adelson's crusade against the legalization of online poker resulted in many poker pros in Las Vegas boycotting the Venetian poker room while it was in Adelson's ownership. Now under new ownership, the Venetian poker room has a lot to offer both tournament and cash game players.
Most weekday nights, The Venetian offers as many or more $1/$3 NLHE cash games ($300 minimum buy-in) than any other strip poker room. The otherUnlimitedHold'em cash game stakes are unusual by Las Vegas standards ($2/$4, $600 max buy-in and $3/$5, $1,200 max buy-in).
The 32 table setup at the Venetian makes it one of the largest poker rooms on the Strip. This number of tables is often expanded to include regular special tournament series such as the Venetian Deepstack and occasionallyMSPTSerie.
Why visit Venetian:Although Adelson no longer owns the Venetian, the impact of his legacy is still felt by many poker players.
“Professionals overlook it for several reasons:which means a lot of recssays Mark Adams, who regularly visits Las Vegas to play poker.
For players trying to bankroll or just finding a juicy game while visiting Las Vegas, the Venetian's $1/$3 lineup offers some great opportunities. Tournament players tend to find special series at the Venetian, and these events typically attract some of the city's biggest fields.
7.Orleans
Like South Point and Red Rock, Orleans is a haven for locals playing poker in Las Vegas. The 34-table room puts Orleans at the top of the list of largest-capacity live poker venues in Las Vegas.
While Orleans always offers a $1/$3 no-limit hold'em cash game (max $500 buy-in), the non-NLHE offerings at the off-Strip properties put the room in a unique category. You will find $3/$6 and $4/$8Limit-Hold'emRuns most of the day, along with $8/$16Omaha eight or better.
The tournament schedule in Orleans includes a few daily events as well as regular special tournament series. A recent Special Series featured an $800 buy-in and a $500,000 No-Limit Hold'em Guaranteed Main Event.
Why visit Orleans:While the Orleans audience is a localized field, cash games can still provide many profitable opportunities. Orleans' location off the Strip makes it a convenient stopover
"Everything in this place costs 40 percent less than on the Strip," says veteran poker player and author Lee Jones. "It has a homely feel to it. Everyone knows everyone. It's like playing Cheers Poker."
Jones adds that while strip poker rooms have more tourists,The cash games packed with local Orleans are still very beatable.
6.root Stein
Red Rock is the only poker room on our list that's quite a distance from the Strip. You need to drive about 20 minutes west of the Strip to experience the Red Rock poker room.
However, the experience might be worth the effort. The 20-table venue offers a distinctly different vibe than its Strip counterparts, with most of the action coming from Las Vegas locals.
The big local action means you won't encounter the usual selection of tourists that you would find at poker rooms on or near the Strip. If you visit Red Rock frequently, you will regularly play against familiar enemies.
Cash games offer $1/$2 NLHE ($300 max buy-in) and usually at least one $2/$5 ($1000 max buy-in) game is running. Limit Hold'em works at $4/$8 stakes in most cases.
Tournaments are suspended at Red Rock at this time.
Why visit Red Rock:If you live in Las Vegas in the Summerlin area, Red Rock makes sense as a local poker room. As usual, you'll collect tons of rewards from Station Casinos and get acquainted with the players you'll be up against during most sessions.
The venue itself is one of the finest venues in the Las Vegas area. While missing out on winning streaks against the never-ending stream of Las Vegas tourists, the Red Rock poker room is definitely worth a visit.
5. Southern tip
Perhaps the best poker room for locals in Las Vegas, South Point is one of the largest poker rooms in the city with 30 tables. All 30 tables are likely to be occupied on any given night.
southern tipcompetitionOffering 3-4 tournaments daily including $60 and $150 NLHE events. A weekly $60 buy-in Omaha Eight or Better tournament is held every Thursday night.
The poker room's seasonal freerolls offer six-figure guarantees for players who accumulate 100 hours of play in a set three-month period. Many of the seats at South Point are occupied by Las Vegas locals trying to carve their way into a $300,000 guaranteed freeroll tournament.
NLHE cash games run 24 hours at $1/$2 ($300 max buy-in) and $2/$3 ($600 max buy-in). The $600 cap is the highest for a regular $2/$3 game in town.
Why Visit South Point:If you live in Las Vegas or have enough time to play 100 hours in three months, the seasonal freerolls offer great value.
Cash game promotions include a variety of high hand bonuses, bad beat jackpots and welcome jackpots on NFL games. While South Point mostly pits you against the locals, the southern Strip venue is home to one of the largest and friendliest poker rooms in town.
4. World Resorts
Las Vegas' newest poker room offers all the necessary amenities for a top-notch poker room on the Strip. The 30-table room hosts a few $160 buy-in tournaments each day and usually has at least a few $1/$3 no-limit hold'em cash games ($400 max buy-in).
Opening in June 2021, Resorts World is the newest mega-resort on the Strip. At $4.3 billion, the property is the most expensive ever built in Las Vegas.
The poker room has an upscale appearance and according to Blakeman, only the lack of consistent cash games keeps Resorts World from ranking higher on this list.
"This should be #2 in terms of comfort, staff, etc., but they just don't have stable games," Blakeman said. "If he gets there, I'd shoot that one at #1 or #2, interchangeable with Wynn."
NLHE cash games occasionally held at Resorts World are $2/$5 with a maximum buy-in of $1,200. $80/$160mixed gameit is also occasionally available.
Why Visit Resorts World:Resorts World is one of three rooms in Las VegasPokerAtlas, with most rooms in town using Bravo.PokerAtlas allows players to enter waitlists directly through the mobile app, so you can skip the usual process of calling the poker room.
The poker room also has a self-service kiosk where you can order food from any restaurant in the casino. After placing your order, you can either collect it when it's ready or have a fries runner delivered to the table.
3.Bellagio
The Bellagio poker room, the longtime center of Las Vegas' high-stakes poker scene, is a must for traveling poker players looking to play on the Strip. The 37 tables are the standard setup of any poker room in town.
All 37 of these tables are currently dedicated to cash games at all times. This fact might put off players looking for multi-table tournament action.
However, the Bellagio setting is a cash game player's dream. The highest stakes cash games in town are constantly held at the Bellagio, and you'll often see some of the world's most famous poker players in the high-roller enclave known as the "Legends Room" (formerly called "Bobby's Room").

Like the poker room at sister hotel Aria, the Bellagio's poker room is packed with cash game action almost all of the time.
Why Visit Bellagio:The Bellagio is at the heart of Las Vegas' live poker scene, as it has been since the days before the "poker boom" of the mid-2000's. A visit to this legendary venue is a must if you've never been there.
Expect to wait a while before you can catch a game, as the waiting lists at the Bellagio are among the longest in the city. Tournament players should look elsewhere for action, but the Bellagio offers a variety of top-notch games for cash game players.
2.Arie
Aria's poker room is a favorite among Las Vegas cash game pros and consistently attracts the most consistent player traffic on the Strip.Seats in the 24-table poker room are almost always full, with cash game action available at a variety of stakes.
Several tables are open 24 hours a day for the $1/$3 ($300 max buy-in) and $2/$5 ($1000 max buy-in) NLHE cash games. The highest stakes games are often found at $5/$10 ($3,000 max buy-in) and $10/$20 (unlimited max buy-in).

"Aria is definitely my #1 spot, mostly because of the staff," says Dan Spargur, a regular at Cash Games Las Vegas. "I understand why people like Wynn, but there are more good regulars at Wynn. There may be more big shots (at Wynn's) on the weekends, but the good regulars know that too."
